By 2095, Naval Station Norfolk had undergone a significant transformation, mirroring the rapid advancements in technology and the shifting focus from Earth’s oceans to the vast expanse of space. The base now serves as the central command and launch point for the United States Space Force.
The harbor on the Elizabeth River has been augmented with massive docks, capable of servicing and launching several simultaneous space initiatives. At the same time, the port is a bustle of commercial activity, and the variety of seafaring and hybrid vessels is reflective of the military and civilian communities that sprawl deep inland.

The discovery of habitable and exploitable exoplanets in the outer Rigil Kentaurus system led to a rush of colonization efforts. However, tensions arose between competing Earth factions and the established colonies there.
Kentaurian states provided the shelter that outlying colonizers needed to keep them free from Central Earth Control and colonizers felt less and less obligated as their newly confiscated wealth helped them build a formidable force of their own. What started as a civil issue became a full on interstellar battle to the show of Earth superiority, a position that we maintain in that sector to this day.
Earthen strength has brought decades of peace and prosperity to all in a society mandated to accountability.
The Kuiper Belt Mining Dispute (2093)
A conflict arose over mining rights in the Kuiper Belt, and tensions between Earth peacekeepers and the Targ escalated into a major territorial dispute that took several hundreds of Earth alliance lives.
At the risk of losing their “dark” technology to The Alliance, Targ retreated, supposedly to the dark region of space where they originated.
The Defense of Earth’s Lagrange Points (2097)
By the early 2090s, Earth faced a new threat: a hostile warring race known as the Xarvans, who sought to claim the rich resources of the solar system’s Lagrange points.
In 2103, the Xarvans launched a surprise attack on these critical positions. Norfolk’s space fleet, led by the flagship Unity, launched a counteroffensive from its orbital dock.
This battle was a decisive victory for humanity, demonstrating again the technological and tactical superiority of Earth’s Space Forces and securing Norfolk’s role as the guardian of the planet, peacekeeper of the solar system, and steward of our sector of the galaxy.
